EDIT: The season of performances, experiences, and workshops that make up the Digital Theatre Literary Department is now available to book by clicking here.
We are launching a season of work commissioned through our Digital Theatre Literary Department, with 5 new plays and 6 workshops available over the coming months, with everything available online and for free or on a Pay what You decide basis! If you want to stay in the loop for all of these releases then the easiest thing to do will be to sign up to our newsletter, which you can do by by clicking here.
To begin, we are releasing the digital adaptation of BATMAN (aka Naomi's death show). The show is a reworked version of our ★★★★ award winning VAULT festival show of the same name by Naomi Westerman. It is an interactive story that explores the author's personal experience with parental death, all in the comfort of your own home.

Then every two weeks we have a new digital theatre commissions being released from the other wonderful writers we've been supporting over the past year.
On June 12th we have the beginning of Post No More by Erinn Dhesi, an experience that simulates what its like to suddenly find yourself going viral and having to decide if you want to capitalise on your new found fame/infamy. The play takes place over a week long period and is performed via WhatsApp.
On June 26th we'll see the release of ONLYCONNECT, written and directed by Maya Little. A multi chapter text based adventure about human connection and capitalism where the end of the story is up to you. This will be available on demand to experience at your leisure.
Then the fun doesn't stop there, because we have two wonderful shows in July for you too! On July 10th we'll be releasing our digital gig-theatre project I used to know H.I.M by Yasmine Dankwah, directed by Segen Yosef. This blend of music and spoken word will examine the origins and evolution of Hip-Hop up until the mid-90s from the perspective of H.E.R, as she celebrates, bares witness and slowly falls victim to his increasing popularity within a capitalistic Western society.
Then, on July 26th and 27th, we'll be staging Becca by Emily Holyoake. This show is a pair of productions, one live-streamed and one in person at Nonsuch Studios in Nottingham, each telling one side of the same story about love, corrupting obsessions, and the permeation of online influencer culture into our day to day lives.
We'll also be offering a series of workshops throughout June and July looking at all manner of different topics, including:
Making Gig Theatre, by Marc Graham from Middle Child
Making Playable/Interactive Theatre, by Tom Mansfield from Upstart Theatre
Making Digital Theatre, by Joe Strickland
Adapting Non-theatrical Work to the Stage, by with Laurie Owen
Writing Theatre from Research, by Emily Holyoake
Making Immersive Theatre, by Joe Strickland
To receive links to access to all the shows and workshops in the season please sign up to our newsletter (don't worry, we send out one a month at most and won't ever use it for anything other than letting you know about stuff Chronic Insanity is making, supporting, or that we are personally excited for). Please sign up by clicking here to keep in the loop with everything Chronic Insanity, including the release of the above productions and workshops.
The Chronic Insanity Digital Theatre Literary Department was supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
